Chris Kyler received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Brigham Young University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School. In law school Chris was designated a national member of the Order of Barristers for achieving excellence in courtroom advocacy. He is licensed to practice law in Utah and California. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Society of Association Executives. Chris serves as CEO for the Utah Association of Realtors and is responsible for creating and managing the legislative advocacy efforts, including legislative drafting, campaigning, fund-raising, PAC money disbursement, and lobbying. He is also a frequent speaker in meetings across Utah where he helps business leaders and their staff members better understand the legal and political issues facing their industries.

Mark J. Kohler

Mark received his Bachelors of Accounting degree and his Masters of Taxation Degree from the University of Utah. He graduated from Willamette University Law School. He is licensed CPA in Oregon, Utah and Arizona and is member of the Utah Bar and practicing attorney. Mark has not only pursued education, but the valuable experience of owning a number of businesses in order to specialize in the complex areas of business, estate and tax planning. Additionally, Mark has worked for the accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick in Portland, Oregon, clerked for the Oregon Tax Court, and a member or partner of three law firms before establishing Kyler Kohler Ostermiller & Sorensen, LLP. Mark also published his first book in 2007, and is a well known national speaker in the areas of business, estate and tax planning.

Michael J. Ostermiller

Michael obtained a Political Science Degree from the University of Utah and was awarded a scholarship to attend law school at Brigham Young University. Mike is the CEO of the Northern Wasatch Association of Realtors. Before coming to KKO Lawyers, he was an attorney with the St. George law firm of Barney & McKenna. As an attorney, Mike successfully resolved numerous cases for both real estate agents and others in the real estate profession. As a lobbyist working daily in the real estate industry, Mike is extremely involved in local and state legislation advocating for better real estate law.

Mathew N. Sorensen

Mat received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Utah, where he was awarded the E. Rich Brewer Scholarship and graduated Phi Kappa Phi. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and was awarded a University Scholarship at entrance. Mat is a partner with Kyler Kohler Ostermiller & Sorensen, LLP ("KKO"). Prior to joining KKO, Mat worked for two large private corporations where he handled business, tax, employment and regulatory matters. Mat`s prior legal experience also includes working as an Assistant Attorney General in the Utah Attorney General`s Office where he prosecuted felony criminal cases from filing to trial. Mat is also a licensed Escrow and Title Officer and is one of the founding partners of Investor Quality Title, LLC. Mat`s outside professional activities include serving as a Board Member and Corporate Secretary for the Marriner Eccles Memorial Foundation, as a Board Member of the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce, and on the Planned Giving Professional Advisory Council for Southern Utah University.

Kenneth P. Childs

Kenny received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English along with a Minor in Business from Brigham Young University. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah. During law school Kenny was placed on the Dean’s List and awarded an academic scholarship. He also received the CALI Award in Water Law and the Wallace Stegnar Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. Prior to joining KKO Lawyers, Kenny worked for a Nevada law firm as a Senior Associate Attorney where he practiced before both the State and Federal District Courts of Nevada. While there he worked in many areas of law involving property rights and primarily practiced in the areas of real estate, estate planning, general litigation and business. Throughout law school he clerked for two Utah firms which specialized in real estate litigation and estate planning. He also performed pro bono work for the Guardian ad Litem Office of Provo. Kenny is licensed to practice law in both Nevada and Utah.
